Our primary upstream provider's SMW5 and BTCL links are down, and as mentioned before, the SMW4 maintenance work is still ongoing. So there is congestion on the upstream provider's link, so you shall face severely degraded service for the time being. We are communicating and working with our provider to get the problem fixed as soon as possible. We ask for your patience and understanding.

As per update from upstream providers the SMW5 circuit is down along with multiple upstream circuit from 2.10 PM on 22.05.2018. We are in communication with our upstream service providers and will inform you when we receive more information. Thus we ask for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

As per latest update from upstream service provider, mentioned upstream circuit is up and stable from 2.55 PM on 22.05.2018.
As per update from upstream provider we are observing our SMW5 circuit is down along with multiple upstream circuit from 2.10 PM on 22.05.2018. We are in communication with our upstream service provider.
There is no ETR available. After getting any update from them we will notify you accordingly.
This is to remind you that SMW-4 maintenance work is ongoing. you may face higher latency and packet loss during this time.
the work will hopefully end on the 24th of May, 2018. If there are any changes, we will update you.

They have communicated with their upstream and no ETR (Estimated time of restoration) has been shared.

As per update from BSCCL, Maintenance work at SMW-4 will be took place as follows:
"As advised & approved by O&MSC Chairman of SEA-ME-WE-4 Network,
The Repeater R710 replacement in Segment-1A (Sub segment 1.7) between Chennai–Tuas (Express between Chennai–Tuas & Omnibus between Cox-Chennai) has been scheduled as mentioned below
REP replacement activity of (R710)
Repeater Planned for replacement: R710 with 2 LD’s failure 1St repeater from Chennai C/s
Expected Traffic Outage period: 18th May 2018 to 24th May 2018 as per POW
Traffic status during activity: All Traffic passing through Segment-1A (both Express and Omni) will be affected during power reconfiguration and power normalization. Traffic passing through Seg-1.7
(Passing through Chennai) will remain down during repeater replacement activity."

One of our upstream provider is currently down. There was fire damage to their POP. We are waiting for the repair work to finish. Our NTTN will be doing some maintenance work on their underground fiber at certain locations. There will be a maximum of 6 hours downtime at the following locations from Monday 11:30pm (16/4/2018) to Tuesday 6am (17/4/2018):

a power transformer had burst in our pop area in Lalmatia early in the morning. our ups had given 8 hours of backup before running out of power and shutting down the devices.
the problem was resolved by DESCO at 1130 am.

Please be informed that as a part of UG5, post successful demonstration of ATEQ adjustment on Seg-1 Express path through ASN lab tool, MW is planned to demonstrate A-TEQ adjustment & optimization through ASN SN10.3 in each DLS of Seg-1. Maintenance window approved by TWG-Co Chair, mail attached for reference.
Activity will be performed in Cox-Chennai as per below schedule:
__Maintenance Window : 16:00 UTC/16th March 2018 to 4:00 UTC/17th March 2018.
Action plan to be implemented in MW : Step 1 - Disconnection of ASN SLTE from Line & Connection of Fujitsu to extract current A-TEQ position.__
Step 2 - Reconnection of ASN SLTE to the line and A-TEQ adjustment/optimization.
Traffic status during activity : Traffic will be down during Step -1.
During Step-2 traffic will be on High Risk (intermittent errors, flap or down can be observed).

Please be informed that,as per our upstream a maintenance work will be performed on SMW-4 submarine system as per below:
Start time: 10:00 PM (Bangladesh Standard Time) (UTC+6) 16.03.2018
End time: 10:00 AM (Bangladesh Standard Time) (UTC+6) 17.03.2018
Expected Outage/Downtime: Two of BSCCL eastbound upstream link and two of westbound upstream link will be down. All others upstream links will be up. Thus you will face Bandwidth congestion and also higher latency to some destinations.
